Does this sound familiar?

You had an idyllic vision of what motherhood would be, but it hasn’t met those expectations. You feel burnt out, unsupported, overwhelmed, or not good enough. You hoped for more support from your partner or family. But now you’re feeling constantly in demand and have little time for yourself. You’re constantly second-guessing yourself and wondering “am I a bad mom?”
-
Facing the silent struggle of being at war with your body and guilt around food or exercise has consumed your thoughts. Your disordered eating takes up so much mental energy that you're left with little time to live your life in a meaningful way. You may be using food as a way to numb out or cope with life or maybe you’re panicking after a meal and feeling the need to compensate for what you consumed. You’ve always had a complicated relationship with your body and you wish you could turn down the volume on that critical voice inside you.

You constantly feel stuck in survival mode and cannot escape a past traumatic event. It’s exhausting to relive the same patterns of fear, sadness, or anger no matter how much time has passed. You may often feel like life is out of your control and you’re constantly on edge because the painful memories from your past could resurface at any moment.. The fear of being hurt again leaves you feeling isolated and disconnected from those around you.
Hi, I’m Karis
I’m glad you’re here. I help women, especially moms, prioritize themselves and find relief from anxiety, eating disorders, and trauma so they can live empowered lives.
I am certified in perinatal mental health (PMH-C), EMDR trained, and a mother of 3 young kids. I work to create a warm, inviting environment where you leave feeling seen and heard. During our sessions together I fully focus on you and your experiences without judgment. I help you develop self-compassion through validation and understanding. Through the work we do together you can gain insight and awareness and we’ll work together to resolve the root cause of your pain to help you find lasting change.
You Deserve to be Seen, Valued, and Empowered.

Whether you’re trying to get pregnant, are pregnant, just had a baby, or are years into your motherhood journey, each phase of parenting comes with difficulties and struggles. I will help you navigate the emotional challenges of motherhood by offering a compassionate space to explore your anxieties, difficult experiences, and self-doubt so that you can find meaning in each part of your motherhood journey.

Maybe you find yourself in “fight or flight” regularly or feel like you are living in survival mode. These are important responses we have to stressful or traumatic events but we are not meant to be in them all the time. My approach to trauma therapy is to utilize EMDR and parts work to support your nervous system and body in healing so that your life can be lived instead of feared.

You’re working so hard to hold it all together. From the outside it looks perfect, but on the inside you are struggling and pained with self-doubt or feelings of inadequacy. Let’s explore the root of these thoughts and feelings through EMDR, parts work, or cognitive behavioral therapy to help you lift that cloud of self-doubt.

It can be tough to imagine a life that isn’t ruled by food, diet, and exercise. If you're struggling with restricting, binge eating, purging, or have a complicated relationship with exercise. I will help you gain insight into your eating struggles and we’ll explore various treatment approaches such as EMDR, parts work, cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavioral therapy so that you can make peace with your body and get back to living.

You’ve tried traditional talk therapy to manage the problems in your life but haven’t found the relief you are looking for. EMDR is a powerful treatment that can help you heal from your past experiences. As an evidence-based modality, it has been found to be effective in treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other traumatic experiences as well as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and a wide array of issues.
